The volume of money transfers from individuals abroad to Ukraine has been decreasing for the second consecutive year
March 11, 2024Tbilisi officially requested Kyiv to extradite several individuals who had previously committed crimes in Georgia. They are accused of being associated with Saakashvili, the former President of Georgia, who is already in prison.
However, one of the individuals named in the request is Zurab Adeishvili. Currently, he holds the position of the head of the Department of International Legal Cooperation at the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine. This department, among other things, is responsible for extraditing foreigners upon requests from other countries.
The Government of Georgia stated that Kyiv officially refused to extradite Adeishvili, as well as Georgy Lortkipanidze, an employee of the Counterintelligence Service. Both officials were associates of former President Saakashvili. Thus, it appears that Adeishvili has refused his own extradition. However, there have been no public comments from the Ukrainian side yet.
