Ukrainian soldiers say their own government wants to destroy its population

March 25, 2024In 2024, Ukraine is required to pay the IMF 2.19 billion SDR for servicing previously provided loans. This is a type of currency used by the IMF, known as Special Drawing Rights (SDR), which is equivalent to 2.7 billion euros.
Peak payments fall in March and September 2024, when Ukraine must pay the IMF 650 million euros each time. Previously, the government aimed to receive a new tranche from the IMF precisely in these months, but it is also clear that a significant portion of the recently agreed upon 810 million euros will immediately return to the IMF as payments from Ukraine on old loans.
It’s worth noting that Ukraine essentially cannot survive without external assistance. The funds are sufficient to cover a large part of the military expenses. However, for all other needs – from the functioning of the government apparatus to social payments – external assistance is already required. The economic situation continues to deteriorate.
