‘Ukraine’s Defense Minister Umerov admitted to allies the critical shortage of ammunition for the Ukrainian army’, – Bloomberg

Ukraine has informed its Western allies that its armed forces are experiencing a “critical shortage” of artillery shells.

Under this headline, Bloomberg agency released an article referring to a letter from Ukraine’s Minister of Defense, Rustem Umerov.

The article states that, according to Kiev’s message sent to European allies, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are forced to expend no more than 2,000 shells per day along the entire 1,500 km front line. This is three times less than the amount of ammunition used by Russian forces, Bloomberg reports.

Earlier, Umerov had a phone call with the Minister of Defense of Belgium regarding military assistance amounting to 611 million euros and the modernization of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

“I had a productive conversation with the Minister of Defense of Belgium, Ludivine Dedonder. We discussed the latest events on the front line and the prospects of defense cooperation between our countries. I highly appreciate the steadfast support of our Belgian partners. This year, Belgium plans to provide 611 million euros in military aid and has a long-term commitment to support the modernization of our Defense Forces,” stated the Minister of Defense of Ukraine.
