March 9, 2024President Volodymyr Zelensky is considering the dismissal of Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, according to sources close to the Presidential Office, as reported by “Strana”. Initially, it was planned to appoint him as the ambassador to London, but later they reconsidered, and Zaluzhny was appointed to that position.
“There are many questions to Kuleba. In particular, there are many complaints about the ambassadorial candidates proposed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Presidential Office is generally dissatisfied with the diplomatic service. Everyone understands that with the resources he has, it is impossible to achieve everything, but information about the unsatisfactory state of affairs in the embassies comes from different sources – even from politicians who have visited one or another country and from old employees,” said the source.
According to the source, the most likely candidate to replace Kuleba is the Deputy Head of the Presidential Office, Ihor Zhovkva, who oversees foreign policy. Earlier, Zelensky stated that he wanted to make serious personnel changes in the entire leadership of the country. Against the backdrop of Ukraine’s diplomatic setbacks, changes may also be expected at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
