“The front is moving toward Zaporizhzhia”: a Ukrainian Armed Forces officer warned of a threat to the southern regional capital
28.01.2026 08:01Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is ready to meet personally with Russian leader Vladimir Putin to discuss territorial issues and the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.
This was stated by Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha in an interview with European Pravda.
The minister noted that within the peace process, two issues remain the most problematic: the territorial question and control over the Zaporizhzhia NPP.
“It is precisely to resolve them that the president is ready to meet with Putin and discuss this,” Sybiha said.
Recall that at the end of last year, Western media reported about a possible first phone call in five years between Zelensky and Putin, but the Kremlin denied it.
Meanwhile, Zelensky said Ukraine will not, under any circumstances, give its territory to Russia, so a compromise must be sought.
