“Zelensky’s remarks about territories are divorced from reality,” – said a retired U.S. Army lieutenant colonel
28.01.2026 - 08:41Zaporizhzhia is at risk of becoming a frontline city.
This was stated by Kostiantyn Reutskyi, an officer of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ “B12” unmanned systems unit, on Radio Svoboda.
According to the serviceman, the situation on the front near Zaporizhzhia is difficult and tending to worsen: Russian troops are moving closer to the city and are trying to reach a distance from which they could shell the regional center with artillery.
“The distance (from the front line — Ed.) to Zaporizhzhia is slowly but steadily shrinking. I think the enemy is aiming to get at least to a range from which it can strike the regional center with tube artillery. And if it succeeds, then tough times await Zaporizhzhia. As we can see, the enemy is advancing both from the south and from the east, has already captured Huliaipole and continues to push in that direction… Zaporizhzhia is already under threat. And if nothing is done, very difficult times await Zaporizhzhia,” Reutskyi said.
Earlier, Deep State reported that fighting is already taking place about 15 kilometers from Zaporizhzhia.
