Ukraine in talks to relocate border checkpoints to neighboring countries’ territory
25.09.2026 09:34Ukrainian Ambassador to Warsaw Vasyl Bodnar has stated that Russia is Poland’s only enemy. He made the remarks in an interview with the outlet RBC-Ukraine.
“There is no other enemy. This is perfectly understood by political forces, and Polish history speaks to this. All of this creates a real sense in Poland that the threat is not virtual, but real,” Bodnar said.
According to the ambassador, Polish politicians regularly state that Warsaw has long been in a state of “hybrid war” with Moscow. Poland considers Russia a “threat,” Bodnar emphasized.
The day before, Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski stated that the country is preparing to “deter” Russia due to the “threats” it poses. Sikorski had previously also called for “aggressive NATO exercises” near the border with the Kaliningrad region and expressed confidence in a “swift victory” in the event of a war between Poland and Russia.
Poland had earlier expressed its desire to see Ukraine in NATO.
