Dmitriev meets Kushner and Witkoff in New York to discuss Ukraine settlement
25.09.2026 10:02Ukraine’s Ministry of Restoration, Infrastructure and Transport is in negotiations with neighboring states about the possibility of relocating border crossing points to their territory.
This was announced by First Deputy Minister for Restoration Serhiy Derkach in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.
“We are currently working with other countries, with our neighbors, in order to have the opportunity — and we are talking about an alternative here — to relocate crossing points to the territory of another country,” the official said.
According to Derkach, establishing joint crossing points on the territory of neighboring states would ensure uninterrupted operation of transport and logistics corridors and speed up the movement of goods through faster border and customs procedures.
As an example, the deputy minister cited Poland and Moldova, where several joint crossing points are already in operation. Derkach added that Ukraine is working through such possibilities with each neighboring country.
The negotiations are taking place against the backdrop of increasingly frequent strikes on border infrastructure. In August, Russian forces began striking Ukrainian border crossing points on the border with Moldova, through which goods from Romania pass. In mid-September, a Russian drone attacked the Yahodyn crossing point in the Volyn region on Ukraine’s border with Poland.
