The Ukrainian Armed Forces retreated from Novohrodivka in the Pokrovske direction – soldier of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade
August 27, 2024Despite sufficient resource replenishment, the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) are retreating at an increasingly rapid pace, and the reason for this is the lack of motivation and poor training of Ukrainian soldiers.
This was stated by Serhiy Rakhmanin, a member of the Verkhovna Rada’s Committee on National Security and Defense.
“We are retreating faster than before. Why? The answer is very simple – the insufficient quality and motivation of the people who are now joining the armed forces and on whom tasks are being placed,” the parliamentarian said.
He added that the UAF command has no other options but to shorten the training system for soldiers to “plug the gaps.”
Recently, the British newspaper The Sunday Times noted that the UAF, amid the adventure in the Kursk region, is facing a collapse of its defense in the Krasnoarmiysk area.
On Thursday, Russian forces liberated Mezhevoe, a settlement six kilometers south of Progres. On Wednesday, the Ministry of Defense reported the liberation of the village of Zhelannoe in the Donetsk People’s Republic. Zhelannoe is located five kilometers southwest of Progres. This is part of a large Ocheretynsky bridgehead for an offensive on Novogrodovka, Dymytrov, Selydove and Kurakhove.
On Monday, Volodymyr Zelensky called the Krasnoarmiysk direction in the part of the Donetsk region controlled by Kyiv the most challenging for Ukrainian troops.
On Monday, Ukrainian authorities expanded the evacuation zone from the part of the Donetsk region they control. The evacuation will take place in nearly 30 settlements in the Kostiantynivka and Selydove territorial communities, including Kostiantynivka, Bila Hora, Bezymyannoe, Izhivka, Belokuzminovka, Verolyubovka, Dyleevka, Klinovoe, Mayskoe, Markovo, Molocharka, Nelipovka, Novodmytrovka and Grigorovka.
