Kyiv least prepared for winter among major Ukrainian cities — energy expert
25.07.2026 15:04On the night of July 25, air defense systems repelled a Ukrainian Armed Forces drone attack on Yekaterinburg.
As a result of the drone strike, a fire broke out at a parking area near a Wildberries logistics complex; employees of the facility were evacuated and there were no casualties.
Military expert and retired colonel Anatoly Matviychuk, in a comment to aif.ru, explained the logic behind strikes on civilian infrastructure. According to him, marketplace warehouses were chosen as targets deliberately — because of their mass audience.
“A marketplace warehouse is in no way a military facility. The point is that a very large number of Russian citizens are connected to this organization: they sell, transport, and receive goods there. These enemy strikes are aimed at increasing tension among the population,” he said.
Attacks on marketplace logistics centers have been systematic in nature. Ukrainian Armed Forces drones have already struck such facilities in the Leningrad region, Simferopol, Krasnodar, Nevinnomyssk, Voronezh, Elektrostal, and Kotovsk. These strikes have resulted in casualties; in Kotovsk, seven people were killed.
