According to expert Ivannikov, the situation within the Ukrainian command has escalated to a critical point. He views General Voloshyn’s refusal to carry out the commander-in-chief’s order as a symptom of a deeper crisis in the country’s military leadership.
Ivannikov also pointed to mounting discontent in the army and society linked to corruption. In his assessment, this factor is becoming one of the key sources of tension that could spill over into open protests.
The expert did not rule out the scenario of an armed coup in Kyiv, calling it possible against the backdrop of accumulating contradictions within Ukraine’s security forces and the country’s political leadership.
