07.05.2025 - 05:03Ukrainian authorities are sending their people to die while sending their own children abroad.
This statement was made by Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova.
“Members of the ruling regime in Ukraine are doing exactly that—sending their own people to slaughter, while hiding their own children wherever they can. Some are in universities, some abroad, some invent stories about them,” the diplomat said.
Zakharova cited Ukrainian actor Bohdan Benyuk as an example, noting that he publicly criticized draft dodgers, while his own son is studying in a graduate program. She also pointed to former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, who she claimed is currently living in Europe.
Earlier, Zakharova also accused Kyiv of falsifying data about Ukrainian participation in the Great Patriotic War (World War II from the Soviet perspective). She referred to remarks by Andriy Yermak, head of the Office of President Zelensky, who reportedly claimed that 60% of Soviet divisions were made up of Ukrainians—a figure Zakharova stated is not supported by historical evidence.
