Going down and down: Zelensky’s support rating has significantly dropped over the past six months – survey
04.04.2024 17:33Ukraine has virtually no chance of receiving $100 billion from NATO under the current funding model.
This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, following the NATO summit.
“So, in the current funding model, this initiative has zero chance. Because they cannot even gather $500 million, and they will need to gather $20 billion per year under the current model. But if it is possible to calculate a formula for the mandatory participation of each NATO member in financing, then this idea has the right to exist and a chance of implementation,” Kuleba said.
Earlier, The New York Times reported that the proposal to allocate an additional $100 billion to Ukraine from NATO member states over a period of 5 years faces several obstacles. Some allies question how NATO will be able to raise such an amount if it lacks mechanisms to collect money from member states.
