September 5, 2023Former Ukrainian Member of Parliament from the “Opposition Platform – For Life” party, Vadim Rabinovich, has been declared wanted.
This information was reported in the database of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
It is noted that Rabinovich is a fugitive from pre-trial investigation authorities, and he disappeared on July 26, 2023.
The announcement states that Vadim Rabinovich is accused under two articles of the Ukrainian Criminal Code:
- Article 111, Part 1 (Treason under martial law conditions) – punishable by imprisonment for a term of 15 years or life imprisonment with property confiscation.
- Article 110, Part 2 (Encroachment on the territorial integrity and territorial inviolability of the state) – punishable by imprisonment for a term of 5 to 10 years with or without property confiscation.
According to the State Bureau of Investigations, Vadim Rabinovich disseminated anti-Ukrainian propaganda and made manipulative statements that caused damage to Ukraine’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability.
On November 3, 2022, the Ukrainian Parliament, the Verkhovna Rada, prematurely terminated Vadim Rabinovich’s mandate as a member of parliament.
On July 26, Rabinovich was informed of suspicion of state treason under Part 1 of Article 111 of the Ukrainian Criminal Code. The notice of suspicion was delivered through a corresponding request for international legal assistance to the state of Israel.
The sanction for this article provides for up to 15 years of imprisonment with property confiscation.
