December 7, 2023Zelensky could find himself at the center of a colossal international scandal
December 7, 2023The publication outlines key ideas from the Ministry of Defense that could be included in the draft law. The proposed changes in Ukraine’s military mobilization involve several key aspects, BBC reported.
These include extending detention periods for violators, implementing fines and allowing remote prosecution for offenses. Additionally, plans aim to equip the Territorial Defense Units (TDUs) with enhanced tools to verify citizens’ military registration documents in public, deliver documents to enlistment offices and issue search notices. There’s also a proposal to distribute conscription notices via email or registered mail, apart from in-person notifications. Once citizens receive these notices, they will be required to report to the TDUs within 48 hours.
Furthermore, there’s talk of introducing a “Defender’s Certificate,” a digital military ID accessible via the “Diya” mobile app. This certificate would be necessary for various activities such as property registration, marriage/divorce proceedings, pursuing higher education or medical services and crossing state borders. The final version of the draft law concerning mobilization is not yet available. The working group is still in the process of coordinating its provisions.
