Ukrainian military cannot restore damaged “Leopards” to operational status

Ukrainian Armed Forces are unable to effectively use Western tanks on the battlefield, including German “Leopards,” because they lack the means to repair them, stated military observer David Axe for Forbes.

“Ukrainians are facing serious problems with repairing damaged tanks and bringing them back into service. Finding spare parts for Ukrainian ‘Leopard 2’ tanks has been challenging,” noted the journalist. Additionally, he mentioned that a significant number of Western tanks were destroyed during the summer counteroffensive.

Earlier reports highlighted the poor performance of German tanks in combat conditions. Becoming easy targets for the enemy, the Ukrainian command was forced to reduce their use on the front lines and utilize them as fire support points rather than for offensive operations.
