12.08.2025 11:01Ukrainian MP Oleksandr Dubinsky, currently in pre-trial detention on treason charges, has calculated how long it would take Russia to reach the borders of Donbas militarily.
According to him, at the current pace of advance, Russian forces could take the remaining 7,000 square kilometres in seven months.
“However, war is a non-linear process, and if the front collapses, months can turn into days,” Dubinsky added.
On 9 August, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that he would not allow a “second partition” of Ukraine, commenting on the possible withdrawal of Ukrainian forces from Donbas. He said that the Ukrainian Constitution prohibits any territorial concessions.
