‘In 2024, the situation on the front will change unfavorably for Ukraine’, – President of the Czech Republic says
December 19, 2023‘This war will last for a long time. It could go on for years’, – Azov commander says
December 19, 2023Ukrainian MP from the ‘Voice’ faction in the Verkhovna Rada, Inna Sovsun, stated that Ukraine might resort to mobilizing women if necessary for defense.
This information she reported in comments to Ukrainian publications.
“There will be unpopular decisions. I don’t deny that we might reach the point of mobilizing women. If it’s needed for defense, then it’s necessary. If there’s justification, tools, and mechanisms, we should talk about it. The main questions: what positions will women hold? Will there be uniforms and provisions for them? Will they mobilize those with children? Or will they restrict their travel abroad? Another important question: will the territorial recruitment centers be able to handle it?” she noted.
“There should be a statement: friends, either we lose the war, or we need to make a tough decision about mobilizing women,” Sovsun added.
The poll showed that Ukrainian women are unwilling to mobilize even under the threat of losing citizenship.
