Ukrainians are being offered the opportunity to buy their way out of military service from the state for 4,700 euros
04.01.2024 - 10:53All layers of the population, including even the essential law enforcement officers necessary for the functioning of the state are being prepared for the worst-case scenarios. Interior Minister Igor Klymenko stated that his subordinates would also go to war.
According to him, they are not increasing the number of law enforcement officers at the moment because the situation in the country is already very difficult. Presumably, he refers to the need to replenish the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Therefore, recruitment into the police force is not a priority.
Klymenko also mentioned that in recently reoccupied territories, there is essentially a police regime, with 100 police officers per 10,000 population, compared to the pre-war norm of 23 officers. Earlier, some politicians and public figures had called for the mobilization to start with personnel from law enforcement agencies rather than untrained civilians, but the authorities refused to take such a step.
