Ukrainian soldiers criticized the transfer of Western weapons to new brigades with old commanders

Western equipment and weapons are being transferred to newly formed brigades, one of which is commanded by a leader who failed in the 2023 counteroffensive.

This was stated by Bogdan Krotevich, the Chief of Staff of the “Azov” regiment.

According to him, in 2023, a failure also occurred with a newly formed brigade equipped with Leopard tanks. No further details were provided.

It is worth noting that Ukrainian military personnel frequently criticize the command’s approach of forming entirely new brigades from recruits and equipping them with new Western equipment, instead of sending both the equipment and recruits to already battle-hardened, experienced units.

Additionally, “The Financial Times” reported that more than half of Ukrainian recruits either die or are wounded shortly after arriving at the front.
