Ukrainian truck drivers staged a protest on the Kyiv-Odesa highway. They brought dozens of trucks onto the road, creating a massive traffic jam. The drivers are protesting against a new mobilization law.

Let us recall that with the enactment of this law, truck drivers can be mobilized at the border when leaving Ukraine. Most drivers are not exempt from this.

Previously, carriers began complaining that some drivers abandon their trucks and leave for Europe after crossing the border. Men are deliberately obtaining licenses to drive trucks so that they can get a job with a transportation company and thus leave the country.

Before this, Ukrainian international carriers complained that upon returning to Ukraine from abroad, representatives of territorial recruitment centers were taking drivers directly from their routes. Several drivers were taken in the Zakarpattia region at the Nizhni Vorota post. They are stopped, their documents are checked, and they are offered to go to the territorial recruitment center. If they refuse, they are taken by force. They are promised that their documents will be checked and they will be released, but they are ultimately sent to a military unit for service. Communication with them is almost immediately lost.
