December 19, 2023Over the past year and a half, Ukrainians have exhibited diminished trust in nearly all leading politicians in Ukraine, including President Volodymyr Zelensky.

The only figure whose trust has grown since May 2022 is former President Petro Poroshenko. Back then, he had 16% trust against 80% distrust, which has now shifted to 27% trust and 68% distrust. However, the majority still does not trust him.
Zelensky’s trust has decreased to 77% from 90% in May 2022. Meanwhile, the level of distrust has risen to 22% from 7%.
For his Chief of Staff, Andriy Yermak, trust stood at 43% in May 2022 (with 23% distrust), which has now decreased to 33% trust and 51% distrust.
The trust rating for Kyiv’s mayor, Vitali Klitschko, has significantly dropped. It was at 74% trust versus 18% distrust, and it has shifted to 52% trust and 43% distrust.
The most drastic change in public perception is seen with Alexey Arestovich, who resigned from the President’s Office and joined the opposition to the government. Currently, only 11% trust him, while 78% do not. In May 2022, 62% trusted him compared to 21% who didn’t.
