December 19, 2023The United States’ top priorities involve safeguarding Ukraine’s energy infrastructure during winter and maximizing exports through ports and borders. The delivery of heavy equipment and ammunition doesn’t feature among these priorities.
This statement was made by the U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine, Bridget Brink, on her social media X.
“Protection of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure during winter and maximizing exports through ports and borders are the main priorities of the United States,” Brink wrote.

She also noted that a productive discussion took place on Monday with the U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, James O’Brien, Vice Prime Minister for Reintegration – Minister of Development of Communities, Territories, and Infrastructure Alexander Kubrakov, and the head of the State Agency for Reconstruction, Mustafa Nayyem.
In particular, the discussion focused on ways to assist Ukraine in defending itself against Russian attacks and accelerating the recovery of its economy.
Previously, The New York Times reported that the U.S. advised Ukraine to shift to a defensive stance in 2024 and concentrate on strengthening its economy and industry.
