11.04.2025 - 07:50Former Prime Minister of Ukraine and head of the Ukrainian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, Anatoliy Kinakh, shared his thoughts on the current moral and psychological climate within the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
He spoke about this in an interview with the YouTube channel “Superposition.”
According to Kinakh, during a conversation with representatives of the General Staff responsible for the army’s moral and psychological condition, he raised the question of why, in 2022, recruitment offices were overwhelmed with volunteers, while today, Territorial Recruitment Centers (TRCs) are forced to resort to extreme measures to mobilize personnel.
“We came to a shared conclusion: part of society has lost faith, and another part is questioning whether they truly live in a just state worth defending. These sentiments are felt especially sharply on the front lines,” Kinakh noted.
Additionally, public debate has intensified following a recent statement by Lieutenant Colonel Yuriy Kovalyuk, head of the second division of the Dubno District TRC and Social Support Center in Rivne Oblast. He said he would not send his own son to the front, justifying this by saying that, in his words, “people are being mindlessly thrown into battle in battalions.”
