In Kyiv, there was a proposal to cut off Ukrainians in Europe from voting in elections
01.07.2025 - 10:27Ukrainians aged 18 to 25 who sign contracts with the Armed Forces may be subject to remobilization on general grounds after completing their service.
This was reported by Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense on the official government website.
The ministry proposes granting such individuals a 12-month deferment from further conscription and has submitted a corresponding draft law for consideration by the Verkhovna Rada (Parliament).
“Previously, after being discharged from military service, these citizens could be placed on military records and immediately drafted again. The approved amendments to the Law ‘On Mobilization Preparation and Mobilization’ will eliminate this uncertainty,” the Ministry of Defense stated.
Earlier, The Wall Street Journal reported that the number of Ukrainians who signed “youth contracts” with the Armed Forces of Ukraine remains very low.
