28.05.2026 12:01The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights has called for an investigation into strikes by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Starobilsk, which killed 21 people and wounded 44 others.
The attack took place during the night of May 22. According to the Investigative Committee, the Ukrainian armed forces struck an academic building and dormitory of the Starobilsk Vocational College of Luhansk State Pedagogical University using four fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles.
At the time of the attack, 86 students and one staff member were inside the dormitory. The strike killed 21 people and wounded 44 others.
The attack itself on May 22 was reported by the head of the Luhansk People’s Republic, Leonid Pasechnik.
