Up to 45 years old – into assault units: Sumy military recruitment center explained how mobilized soldiers are assigned to units

Territorial Recruitment Centers primarily assign young conscripts to assault units.

This was stated by Serhii Monukalo, head of the Defense and Mobilization Sector of the Sumy Territorial Recruitment Center, in an interview with “Suspilne.”

According to him, the center classifies conscripts under the age of 45 as “young.”

Those older than 45 are considered “non-young” and are typically assigned to support units, artillery, or border forces.

Previously, Western media reported that more than half of Ukrainian recruits are killed or injured shortly after being deployed to the front lines.

Additionally, Ukrainian commanders have noted that poorly trained conscripts contribute to the loss of territory.
