Kyiv’s objective in the Kursk region may be to disrupt all Russian gas supplies to Europe, — The Washington Post
08.08.2024 - 15:09Donald Trump’s candidate for U.S. Vice President, J.D. Vance, claimed last year that he would not respond to requests from Ukraine.
This information is reported by The Washington Post.
“Dude, I’m not even going to answer the calls from Ukraine,” the politician wrote to blogger and entrepreneur Charles Johnson in October.
These messages were passed on to The Washington Post by Johnson himself, who published them and noted that Vance opposes American aid to Ukraine.
“Two very senior guys from Ukraine reached out to me. The head of their intelligence. The head of their air force. Complaining about F16s,” Vance also wrote to Johnson.
The article does not specify whether Vance communicated with the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, or the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine, Oleh Ivashchenko. The commander of the Ukrainian Air Force since 2021 is Mykola Oleschuk.
Previously, J.D. Vance expressed doubts about the necessity of further aid to Ukraine. In his view, the U.S. focus on Ukraine is excessive, and Ukraine will not be able to defeat Russia, which is several times larger in population and weaponry.
