Ukrainian conscripts abroad have started receiving emails urging them to join the Ukrainian Legion
September 12, 2024Poland is ready to send Ukrainian draft dodgers to the front.
This was revealed by Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski during a conversation with Russian pranksters Vovan and Lexus, who posed as former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.
He noted that Warsaw could prepare “a couple of Ukrainian brigades,” but stated that “Polish soldiers inside Ukraine—that’s impossible.”
Sikorski added that Warsaw has no desire to defend Ukraine, but the situation could change “if the front starts to collapse.”
The Polish Foreign Minister also emphasized that Ukraine’s accession to the EU could take a decade. He mentioned that Europeans are not inclined to accept a country with a “competitive agricultural sector” and a large population.
Sikorski further believes that Ukraine’s accession to NATO is also unlikely.
“This idea is used in the West as a bargaining chip with Russia. And there is no desire to go to war with Russia in Europe. That is an absolute red line,” the Polish Foreign Minister stated.
