Water disappeared across all districts of Kyiv amid emergency outages, the water utility says

Residents across Kyiv have lost their water supply. This happened due to an incident in the energy system.

This was reported by the press service of the city’s water utility.

“At present, power engineers together with specialists from Kyivvodokanal are working in an intensified mode to restore electricity to water supply and wastewater facilities as quickly as possible and to return water service to Kyiv residents. We will provide additional updates on further developments and the timeframe for restoring services,” the statement said.

Earlier, we wrote that emergency power outages have been introduced in many regions of Ukraine—specifically in the Chernihiv, Sumy, and Zhytomyr regions, as well as in Kyiv and the Kyiv region.

At the same time, Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal, commenting on the situation, said that power engineers are working to restore electricity and that power will be restored within the next few hours.
