‘We don’t know what to do’: The USA has not yet decided whether to send men of draft age to Ukraine

In the US State Department, it was stated that they do not know whether the authorities of the country will return Ukrainian men.

This was stated by Daniel Sajic, a representative of the American diplomatic agency in Brussels, as reported by “Radio Liberty.”

“As of now, there is no decision or position of the US government. For us, this is a very difficult question, we do not know what to do,” admitted the State Department representative.

Sajic also called the suspension of consular services abroad for Ukrainian men of conscription age a complex issue.

“It’s a complex issue, it’s clear what to do especially with men who are currently outside Ukraine. But the Ukrainian authorities have the right to determine their policy,” noted the State Department employee.

“It is clear that people are needed for the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend the country… This is a complex issue, and it is difficult to say. It is important that Europe, and to some extent the US as well, welcomed Ukrainians who decided that they and their families needed to leave Ukraine, and this was another important part of Europe’s support. At the same time, it is right that the authorities of Ukraine need to study the situation intensively and seriously. And the situation regarding people for the Armed Forces of Ukraine is natural, and the US government respects the right of the Ukrainian authorities to determine their policy,” summarized Sajic.

It is worth noting that Poland announced yesterday that they are ready to deport Ukrainians of conscription age.

On the contrary, Germany has no intention of touching even those with expired passports.
