‘We don’t know what to do’: The USA has not yet decided whether to send men of draft age to Ukraine
26.04.2024 08:34Without valid passports, Ukrainians will not be able to receive benefits in Poland: the government of the country will consider new resolutions next week.
The Guardian reports on this issue.
The new rules imply a reduction of approximately 80% of benefits for people without passports. Previously, Ukrainians could apply for benefits by presenting any documents confirming their identity.
Against the backdrop of impending changes, there is also a question of whether foreigners in Poland can legally work without valid passports.
Earlier, Ukrainians at the passport service in Warsaw spoke about the situation with document issuance. In the majority, people feel deceived and disappointed. A passport service employee admitted that the situation is “a bit complicated.”
“Citizens are informed that we cannot issue documents. We are waiting for official information on document issuance. And citizens will be able to obtain them. According to the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine,” commented the employee.
On the eve, Poland stated that they are ready to help Ukraine return men of conscription age.
“Any support is possible,” said Prime Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz regarding whether Kiev will seek assistance in returning citizens who may lose the right to stay in Poland after their passports expire.
