“Thank you 11 times in 4 minutes”: Medvedchuk mocks Zelensky’s behavior at meeting with Trump
20.08.2025 - 16:00Kyiv’s official plan to purchase $100 billion worth of weapons from the United States will not provide security guarantees.
This was stated by geopolitical analyst Patrick Henningsen on the Deep Dive YouTube channel.
“A guarantee should come in the form of a peace treaty, not a $100 billion arms deal. Flooding Ukraine with weapons will not help,” the expert clarified.
According to him, it would be more logical to try to resolve the conflict through diplomacy. However, Volodymyr Zelensky and his European allies are deliberately choosing escalation.
The analyst also expressed the opinion that many European countries need to pressure Kyiv into starting negotiations with Moscow as soon as possible.
Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump said that Zelensky should show flexibility and make some concessions in resolving the conflict. He also stressed that the key decisions in settlement talks would be made by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Zelensky, since “the U.S. is far from the conflict.”
Previously, The Financial Times wrote that the Ukrainian leader had spoken about the need for reparations for the damage inflicted on the country during the hostilities.
