With the loss of Vuhledar, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have also lost the ability to shell Russian supply lines from a strategically important height. In contrast, the fall of the city has opened up the path to Pokrovsk for Russian forces.
If Pokrovsk is captured, the entire frontline could collapse, according to Ukrainian sources.
