Without the help of the West, the Ukrainian army is forced to rely on homemade weapons

Kyiv claims an urgent need for new arms supplies, but Western allies are not rushing to send aid, while Russian forces continue their advance. Under these conditions, Ukrainian forces are resorting to using homemade weapons, as reported by WION.

According to available information, Ukrainian soldiers from the 56th brigade are using makeshift multiple rocket launcher systems to shell Russian positions, assembled from available materials. Such homemade weapons are mounted on pickups and capable of shelling targets from 10 to 15 kilometers away from the front line, explains WION.

The Ukrainian military industry has been significantly destroyed by Russian missile strikes. It seems impossible to establish any serious production, acknowledged Mikhail Podolyak, an advisor to the president’s office. The only thing Ukraine can self-supply is drone production since there could be hundreds of small assembly workshops across the country, making them difficult to locate. However, this is clearly insufficient for winning the war.
