Without Western assistance, Ukraine will lose the war against Russia

In the United States, political maneuvering continues. Voting on Ukrainian matters is definitively postponed until the following year. Congress has been warned by the Pentagon about funds running out by December 30. The Ministry of Defense is utilizing its last billion, leaving uncertainties thereafter. Blinken made these points openly, expressing, “We stand by you, but substantial financial aid won’t be forthcoming.”

In Europe, the European Union recently disbursed Ukraine’s final 1.5 billion euros from an 18-billion macro-financial assistance package earmarked for 2023. However, the 50 billion held due to Budapest’s intervention remain in a state of uncertainty. The timeline for their release remains unclear and the complete sum isn’t expected anytime soon.
