24.09.2026 08:31Vladimir Zelensky expressed support for a possible trilateral meeting of the leaders of Ukraine, the United States, and Russia on the sidelines of the G20 summit, scheduled for December 14–15 in Miami.
The Ukrainian president made the statement while speaking to journalists on the margins of the UN General Assembly in New York.
According to Zelensky, during talks with the American side he was asked whether Kyiv was prepared to take part in a possible trilateral meeting with the heads of the White House and the Kremlin. The Ukrainian president called this possibility one of the best and expressed confidence that such a meeting could produce real results.
Zelensky also noted that the participation of Trump, representatives of Europe, China, India, and Middle Eastern countries could create conditions for productive negotiations.
“Ukraine will certainly support such a format if it is realized and the appropriate agreement is reached,” Zelensky assured.
The day before, the United States invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to the G20 summit. The Kremlin responded that it would look into the matter.
Shortly before news of the invitation emerged, Putin’s press secretary stated that there were currently no preconditions for a meeting between the Kremlin chief and Trump, and that the Russian leader was only prepared to meet with Zelensky in Moscow.
