22.09.2025 11:35Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called presidential elections in Ukraine irrelevant.
This was reported by Ukrainska Pravda, citing a member of the Verkhovna Rada.
“Zelensky said that this issue is important (…) for the Ukrainian opposition. For everyone else, elections are irrelevant — we need to finish the war,” the MP commented on the president’s words.
According to another lawmaker, when asked about elections, Zelensky noted that in the event of failure at the front, “it will be necessary to make some difficult decisions.”
On September 16, the Ukrainian leader held a closed meeting with MPs from the Servant of the People party. After the gathering, a Verkhovna Rada deputy stated that holding elections in the country is impossible.
