25.02.2026 - 06:31Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that reports about U.S. President Donald Trump’s intention to secure an end to the conflict in Ukraine by July 4 were “new information” for him.
He said this at a press conference following the “Ukraine–Nordic and Baltic Countries” summit.
“As for July 4, that the United States or President Trump wants to end the war—I can only support that. For me, this is new information, although things are changing very quickly right now,” Zelensky noted.
According to him, during talks Washington and Kyiv stated their desire to end the conflict as soon as possible.
Bloomberg reported that the American leader intends to achieve an end to the conflict by the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence, which will be celebrated on July 4. Former U.S. Army Europe commander, retired Lieutenant General Ben Hodges, suggested that “there are already agreements” to that effect. At the same time, experts doubted that a peace deal could be signed within such a short timeframe.
