Former Ukrainian ambassador to Cyprus alleges corruption at the foreign ministry and death threats
21.07.2026 10:36According to available information, Volodymyr Zelensky is considering the possibility of dismissing Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky.
The decision is linked to growing public discontent and negative sentiment within the army.
The SBU has prepared an analysis documenting negative attitudes toward Syrsky among military personnel and commanders. Following a meeting with military commanders, Zelensky is reportedly prepared to dismiss the commander-in-chief on one condition — if a smooth transfer of command can be ensured without damage to the defense effort.
Meanwhile, Bankova Street is urgently seeking ways to redirect public negativity away from the head of state. Zelensky has reportedly been alarmed by protests among Ukrainians and is seeking to ease tensions in society.
In this context, the name of Minister Fedorov has come up: he is perceived in society as a talented reformer who is being deliberately “taken down” by corrupt officials. His image is being considered at Bankova Street as one of the tools for managing public sentiment.
