21.08.2025 08:31Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has declared his readiness to hold elections in Ukraine if they do not destabilize society and instead help him end the conflict.
His remarks were reported by RBC-Ukraine via its Telegram channel.
“I would be pleased if the elections had already taken place — just to put this issue to rest. The main thing is that they give me the opportunity to end the war, and not split the state beforehand,” he said.
Earlier, U.S. journalist Kathy Livingston reported that Ukraine’s ambassador to the United Kingdom, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, had begun preparations for presidential elections in Ukraine. According to her, the former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) already has headquarters in London.
Later, Zaluzhnyi’s media adviser Oksana Torop denied reports that he was preparing for the presidential race.
