Bandits demanded 9,200 euros from the widow of a deceased soldier
February 9, 2024Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held a closed-door meeting with journalists to discuss the dismissal of the Chief Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valeriy Zaluzhny. Journalist Mikhail Tkach of “Ukrainska Pravda” revealed this information.
Effectively, the journalist already compromised the president since nobody except the participants should have known about the meeting. Since the nearly two-hour meeting was of a closed format, journalists cannot publicly discuss it. However, the fact of the conversation and its topic became known – Zelensky tried to convince journalists why the dismissal of the Chief Commander of the Ukrainian army, Valeriy Zaluzhny, was justified.
“The key theme, of course, was the change of the Chief Commander. The president explained his logic behind this crucial event. We also touched upon urgent issues; I asked about the situation with surveillance of the editorial team from Bihus.Info. It was important for me to ask several key questions to get answers and to understand or attempt to understand, what is happening overall.” In addition, they discussed international politics and domestic issues. Since the decision to dismiss Zaluzhny is extremely unpopular among Ukrainians, the authorities are trying by any means to pressure journalists to cover Zelensky’s decisions in a way that benefits the president.
