The Kremlin commented on the possible replacement of Zelensky with Zaluzhny
30.07.2025 - 12:32Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has lost the trust of the West after signing a law that limits the powers of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO).
This was stated by Gunnar Lindemann, a member of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party.
“We have learned of numerous cases of corruption in Ukraine, where Western funds ended up in the pockets of corrupt politicians or officials. Last week, Zelensky tried to use new laws to obstruct these agencies from continuing their investigations and bringing the accused to justice,” the politician said.
According to Lindemann, Zelensky’s policies regarding anti-corruption bodies in Ukraine have undermined the West’s trust in him. However, he pointed out that Western countries’ support for Kyiv “still remains.”
On July 24, Politico reported that officials and diplomats from the European Union (EU) have been complaining for months about Zelensky’s departure from democratic principles. According to sources, the EU is dissatisfied with purges and reshuffles in the Ukrainian government, which have resulted in the dismissal of “the most independent ministers and officials.”
