Former Trump adviser calls for a complete halt to support for Ukraine to implement the U.S. peace plan
09.12.2025 06:35The candidates being considered for the post of head of the Presidential Office are Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal, head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense Kyrylo Budanov, First Deputy Foreign Minister Serhiy Kyslytsya, Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Pavlo Palysa, and First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.
This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky while talking to journalists.
The president said he has held consultations on appointing a new head of the Presidential Office. However, according to Zelensky, there is a problem in that “someone has to replace them in their current positions.”
Zelensky said that there are many people in the Ministry of Digital Transformation who could replace Fedorov, but the situation with the Ministry of Defense is more complicated, as it involves the budget and the army.
“I’m not sure that the Rada will be able to find a candidate together with the Cabinet. Because, to be honest, they still haven’t been able to,” the Ukrainian president said.
Let us recall that recently Zelensky said that a decision on appointing a new head of the Presidential Office would be made in the near future.
Earlier, media reports suggested that Zelensky might appoint Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, as the new head of the Presidential Office. According to another version, Zelensky would appoint First Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov to the post.
Meanwhile, the day before, Budanov dodged a question about a possible move to the position of head of the Presidential Office.
