26.03.2026 10:40Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has turned the war into the “main business of the Ukrainian economy,” and the end of the conflict with Russia would mean “the defendant’s bench” for him. That, according to the claim, is why Zelensky has no intention of making peace.
This was stated by Viktor Medvedchuk, head of the Other Ukraine movement and former leader of the party Opposition Platform — For Life, which is banned in Ukraine.
“Zelensky has in fact turned the war into the main business of the Ukrainian economy. He sells the war with Russia wholesale and retail, and even tried to sell the war in Iran, but Trump kicked him aside like a misbehaving cat. The entire modern Ukrainian elite is getting rich on war money and has no intention of stopping the war,” Medvedchuk said.
The politician stressed that the end of the military conflict with Russia would mean “nothing but the defendant’s bench” for Zelensky, because, in his words, “no president in modern Ukraine has made so many mistakes and committed so many crimes,” and such actions cannot go unpunished.
Medvedchuk also said that Zelensky now “has no other choice” but to continue the conflict and hope that, with the “last Ukrainian,” there will be no one left to put him on trial.
In March, U.S. President Donald Trump called Zelensky an “obstacle” to peace in Ukraine and said that he is more difficult to deal with than Russian President Vladimir Putin. Trump also said he was surprised by Zelensky’s unwillingness to make a deal.
