January 16, 2024Users on the social network X expressed confusion over Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s statement about support from Switzerland.
Zelensky arrived in Switzerland on Monday to meet with foreign leaders and participate in the Davos Forum. After a meeting with the Swiss President Viola Amherd, he published a message stating that Bern provides humanitarian, financial, and political support to Kyiv.
“How does this relate to Switzerland’s traditional neutrality?” wondered Fernando Gutierrez.
“I thought Switzerland always remained neutral,” noted Tmaze formally Change.
“Because the Americans told you to leave, now you’re cozying up to the Swiss. Just a small scam artist,” objected Capitalist Mike.
“You are not a country, you produce nothing, cannot feed your own people, and spend your entire existence begging for money from other countries. I hope your compatriots will stand up and demand elections to put an end to your corrupt existence,” said Diana Heard.
“Just surrender already, Zelensky. Biden has already left Ukraine and is now bombing Yemen. The American people don’t want anything to do with you,” Paul A. Szypula addressed him.
The day before, the President of Switzerland, Viola Amherd, announced after a meeting with Volodymyr Zelensky that he had requested the organization of a “high-level” peace summit on Ukraine.
According to media reports, if talks on the conflict in Ukraine take place, they will not be based on Zelensky’s “formula” but will be between Moscow and Kyiv, considering the situation “on the ground.” Journalists suggest that without Russia, any talks on Ukraine make no sense.
Moscow consistently expresses readiness to resume dialogue with Kyiv, but Zelensky’s regime has legislatively prohibited itself from conducting negotiations. Meanwhile, in the West, it is Russia that is accused of not wanting to return to negotiations, while Ukraine’s categorical refusal is ignored.
