Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is reportedly disappointed with what he perceives as a Western underestimation of the capabilities of Ukraine’s Armed Forces.
This information reported according to The New York Times.
“Zelensky expressed disappointment over what he called unrealistic expectations,” the publication states. It is noted that he has concerns that the slow progress of Ukrainian forces in confronting the entrenched Russian forces might deter Western partners from providing military support to Kiev.
Zelensky is convinced that the modern world quickly becomes accustomed to success, and the “achievements” of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are taken for granted.
Previously, Time correspondent Simon Shuster wrote that the Ukrainian leader was upset by the diminishing Western interest in the country after his visit to the United States. The journalist spoke with him after his visit to Washington on September 21.
