Zelensky visits Poland for the first time since the UPA scandal

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has arrived in Poland on a visit for the first time since bilateral relations soured over disagreements surrounding the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA, an organization recognized as extremist and banned in Russia).

This was reported by the outlet Strana.

Zelensky traveled to Lublin, where he will hold a meeting with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk. The two sides are expected to discuss the results of the Ukrainian leader’s visit to the United States, including his talks with President Donald Trump.

Relations between the two countries deteriorated after Zelensky granted an honorary name to one of the Ukrainian Armed Forces units in honor of Ukrainian nationalists. In Poland, they are held responsible for the mass killings of Poles in Volhynia during World War II.
