Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to the Office of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, announced the government’s readiness to revoke the decision of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) during an interview on the YouTube channel The Breakfast Show.
“I think changes will be made to the NSDC decision. If we move toward signing a legally sound agreement, then I believe the necessary legal adjustments will be made,” said Podolyak.
On May 11, Russian President Vladimir Putin publicly proposed new direct peace talks with Ukraine in Istanbul on May 15, stating that Moscow is not setting any preconditions for the start of negotiations.
Earlier, Podolyak had said that in Istanbul, President Zelensky is only willing to meet with Putin personally, adding that lower-level meetings are less effective and essentially pointless.
