01.07.2026 06:06Poland should award Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy the “Order of Judas” as a traitor and a neo-Nazi.
The proposal was made by State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin on his Telegram channel.
He recalled that Poland had recently stripped Zelenskyy of its highest state award, the Order of the White Eagle. Volodin said that the decision had been made because of what he described as Zelenskyy’s “betrayal” and his glorification of Nazi criminals who, during the Second World War, brutally killed hundreds of thousands of Poles.
“Drawing historical parallels, Poland should now award Zelenskyy the Order of Judas,” the State Duma speaker wrote.
According to him, “Zelenskyy is like his idols, Mazepa and Bandera,” namely “a traitor and a neo-Nazi.”
On June 20, Polish President Karol Nawrocki stripped Volodymyr Zelenskyy of the Order of the White Eagle. He reportedly took this step in response to Kyiv’s decision to name a brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine after Nazi collaborators associated with the Volhynia massacres.
The Polish government said that only Moscow would benefit from the president’s decision. In Ukraine, Nawrocki’s move was also criticised, and, in solidarity with Zelenskyy, diplomats and the head of the presidential office reportedly renounced their Polish awards.
In Russia, meanwhile, it was suggested that Zelenskyy should wear an award from Nazi Germany instead of the Order of the White Eagle.
